Almost a Castle on Lake Gogebic L.L.C. is a large, newer lake home on beautiful Lake Gogebic, a 13,000+ acre lake, famous for Walleye and Perch fishing. It is open year round and is right on the snowmobile trail. UTV and ATV riders use the Forest service road system which directly connects to the ATV trail system. That road system enters the woods directly across the road from our property. You will feel like a king and queen in this very large lake front home with over 4,400 sq ft of combined living space on the main floor and second floor. With 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 3.5 bathrooms, fireplace, and 300 ft. of shoreline, you will get the vacation you want instead of being packed into a small cabin. In the winter we close off the bathroom in the master bedroom to prevent the water pipes from freezing. It is available the rest of the year. If it is starting to feel expensive, look at our rates and you will see it costs about the same as most places half it's size. Many guests split the cost with another family. We set a limit of 12 people but make exceptions on occasion if there are young kids. The absolute maximum number of people is 15, and on occasion we approve up to 15 if there are young kids. The rates posted are for up to 10 people. Additional guests beyond the first 10, costs $30 per person per night. Guests cannot be rotated, exchanged or replaced without paying the additional fee. This means once 10 people (adults or kids) have been there, all of the next guests pay the additional fee even if some have left. Our location has good wind protection because we are on the West Shoreline and behind a large point sticking out into the lake. This is an important feature on a large lake because the other shore (East Shore) can have really large waves, making it hard to go boating. Our shoreline (the West shoreline) is often calm even when the East shoreline has large waves. Before you pay for it, we have a contract that you will need to print, read, sign, and return within 7-10 days, for the reservation to remain in place. No rental will be held for people without a signed contract in our possession. Also we will need to cover some rules we have that our insurance company requires and Gogebic Township has for renting out residential homes in their township. A rental contract and the reservation are not valid until that is done. If you need more information about our rules that you must agree to prior to our accepting a rental, you can email us through VRBO. It is important that you do not book and pay for it before we cover the rules and we send you the contract. After that you can pay for it through VRBO as there are beneifits to paying for it through VRBO. Come see this area's great waterfalls and beaches, ride ATV's, snowmobile, hike, swim or fish. Catch Walleye's right from our pier or shoreline and then have a campfire while overlooking the lake. Bedrooms: The master bedroom is enormous and overlooks the lake. It is approximately 25 feet wide by 30 feet long. There is another bedroom that overlooks the lake that is about 25 feet long by 20 feet wide. Both of these rooms have a king size bed and at least one twin bed in case one of your kids needs to be near you. Two other bedrooms are easily large enough to have a queen bed and at least one additional twin bed. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs. The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds and it's own bathroom. There is a large living room upstairs, (33' x 14') that we call the Eagles Nest because it has a birds eye view of the lake. It has lots of large windows and a great view of the lake. On the main floor there is also a living room attached to the kitchen and dining room with a fireplace all overlooking the lake. Together they make a great central place for people to eat, hang around, play cards etc. On the main floor there is also a rec room with air hockey, and a basketball game, and TV all overlooking the lake. There is a separate room just for playing ping pong upstairs. The upstairs living room and the rec room have satellite TV's. You will appreciate having multiple living rooms on cold or rainy days so kids have a place to call their own. Location: It is located about 15 miles North of the Wisconsin border, North of Presque Isle, WI., and about 30 minutes West of the Cisco Chain of lakes near Watersmeet Michigan. Minocqua and Eagle River are both about 45 miles away. This means less boat traffic, more privacy, more fish and a better price for you. We are directly on the snowmobile trail and this area averages over 250 inches of snow. That's is over 21 feet of snow a year. All that water helps keep this lake full even in dry years. Fishing on Lake Gogebic: Fishing magazines frequently state that some of the Midwest's best perch and walleye fishing is on Lake Gogebic. Every gas station, restaurant, and business in the area has lots of jumbo perch fish mounts on their walls, with some perch over 2 lbs. There are a lot of 11'- 14' perch in this lake. This is one of the best Walleye fishing lakes in the Midwest. There are a lot of 16-22' Walleyes in this lake. The Michigan DNR approved a lower size length for 2016. It appears that 2 Walleyes can be 13" or larger, and the rest of a person's daily limit must be 15". There are too many13"-14" Walleye's in this lake and they want to reduce the number of fish in that size range. Please read the MI DNR's fishing regulations to be sure what the new rules are. Catch them from our pier or in one of the boats we provide at no cost. There are also some trophy Northern Pike and some very nice bass in the lake. Boat Landings: There is a free public boat landing about 200 yards away. There is also a state park public boat landing 1 mile away that can be used provided you buy or have a Michigan State Park Sticker. The lake is an all sports lake so you can use canoes, kayaks, sailboats, jet ski's and motorized boats. Snowmobile and ATV Trails: Want to ride your snowmobile? We are directly on the trail so you won't have to trailer up once here. Ride to Lake Superior which is about 35-40 miles north. The trail system goes for many miles in all directions. Ride on the lake. Once frozen properly this lake becomes a giant 18 mile long adventure land. You can rent sleds and ATV's from several places near our cabin. We have plenty of parking space for all your toys and have a detached garage with openings at either end so you can drive right through it without having to turn your sled around. We and many others use the small forestry road across the street to access the official ATV trail system. Most township roads, and county roads are fair game to ride on provided you follow the rules and drive responsibly. Get an ATV map to make sure you are legal and don't get lost in this vast area of wilderness. Downhill and Cross Country Skiing: Downhill ski on some of the best skiing east of the Tetons while only driving 30-40 minutes to ski resorts like Indianhead, BlackJack, Big Powderhorn, Norway Mtn, Pine Mtn, Porcupine Mtn. State Park, (downhill and cross country), Whitecap Mountain, and Mount Zion. Did you know that this area's average annual snowfall is approx. 250'. There are several places to cross county ski. Check the Lake Gogebic Chamber of Commerce's web site for active cross country trails. We like to cross country ski down to the Lake Gogebic State Park or the County Park. This stretch has lots of undeveloped shoreline. Waterfalls,Hiking trails, and Mountain Biking: The U.P. is filled with waterfalls. Some of the best ones are 30-60 minutes drive from this cabin. Hike along the Lake Superior shoreline which is filled with beautiful quartz rocks polished smooth to skip on the water. Agates and other pretty rocks are hidden treasures for you and your kids to find. We really enjoy going to Lake of the Clouds which is in the first range of mountains from the shoreline of Lake Superior. That park has many miles of hiking trails with some leading deep into wilderness and others requiring little effort to overlook the Porcupine Mountains and Beautiful Lake Of The Clouds. Many people come to the area just to see the waterfalls. From Saxon Harbor North along the Lake Superior shoreline, there are many waterfalls to visit. Most waterfalls have trails, bridges and other improvements to help people view them. These tend to be great hikes for kids because most are approximately a 1-3 miles long and they have lots of fun walkways, bridges, terraces etc. for kids to run around on. Other Amenities: We do not guarantee that an item will not break down, be damaged from the last renter, a storm, or even stolen. We cannot immediately fix or replace all items. While we have not had problems with them, things happen and if a bear destroys a grill, or one of the many TV's or the satalite TV system stops working, we can't replace it quickly. Hi Vacationers, Are you looking for a place to rent that is "CLEAN" and will not break the bank ? My husband and I call our place The Berglund Blue House. Right now, we have 6 twin beds, one queen sofa sleeper in the Livingroom, all with very comfortable foam mattresses. This is a 1000 square feet house and it has all the amenities of home. The only things you need to bring is food, clothes and personal stuff like toothbrush and comb. Towels and bedding are provided. We have everything you need in the kitchen. (Plates, Glasses, Bowels, Plates, Coffee Cups, Pots and Pans, Pizza Pan, Baking Pans, Silverware and Utensils. We also have specialty items like K-cup, griddle, microwave, deep Fryer). We provide Baggies large and small, Tinfoil, Napkins, Paper Towels, Paper Plates, Dish Soap, Hair Soap, Hand soap. In the dining area we have a table for 6. In the kitchen a table for 2 or more. In the living room we have plenty of seating, large screen TV, blue ray player, internet, movies, books and games. Sleeping: If you like to sleep by yourself, we can fit 6. If you double up, we can fit 8. We provide all your bedding needs, Pillow and Mattress protectors on every bed, Sheets, Blankets and Comforters. On the Main Floor in the Living Room the couch is a queen sofa sleeper with foam mattress. It is very comfortable. On the main floor we have 1 bedroom with 1 twin bed. Not finished yet in this room but will be by rental time. Upstairs we have 2 bedrooms. 1. First room has 2 twin beds with foam mattresses. 2. second bedroom has 3 twin beds with foam mattresses. We own the lot right next to us on the right, so there is plenty of space for parking your rigs. Snow is plowed as needed at no cost to you. The outside of the house is being painted but it got too cold to finish. Activities offered: Snowmobiling trail access 2 blocks away- no trailering needed. ATV, UTV trail access 2 blocks away- no trailering needed. Boat launch just 4 blocks away, has parking (Lake Gogebic). Convenience store with gas/grocery, restaurant one block away. Store right across the street has basic needs and more. There is also a bar in town and Post office. Skidoo dealer 3 miles away offer other make parts. Regarding the trail access- 4 major trails converge in Berglund, so you can head in any direction. Michigan offers hundreds of miles of trails for Snowmobiling and ATV. A bit about us: We love to Snowmobile and ATV. With that said, we want others to be able to do this as well without breaking the bank. Lets face it, these activities are expensive. Attached over sized 1 car garage for you to use during your stay. 1/2 mile from Bergland Bay Bar, 1 block from gas station which carry’s anything you should need for your stay ( gas, pizza, water, food, ice cream, beer, booze, wine, medicine and more) There is a huge driveway/yard for all your snowmobile trailers to back right in and drive right out. The snow will be plowed from the front of the drive way to the back garage. The house has Wifi, Cable and Roku in case you want to warm up and just chill at the house and relax. 2 Kayaks hanging in garage for you to use as well. Charcoal Weber Grill, cooler and garage fridge so you have plenty of room for food. NEW If you dont feel like cooking Antonio's is a block away and serves breakfast lunch and dinner, there is also JW's only about 1/2 mile away for a good lunch or dinner. Bergland Bay Bar has amazing Pizzas and Beef sandwiches. Kontecka is right up the street in White Pine and you can see the Bears eating dinner while you are eating, its a must visit place. If you are looking to fish Lake Gogebic is right down the st. Lake Gogebic is the largest natural inland lake of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is located within the one million acre Ottawa National Forest. The fishermen around here says its the best Walleye fish around! If you are looking to hike, we are only 30 mile from the Porcupine Mountains on Lake Superior. This is not an average rental house, this is a well maintained home for people looking to feel like they are at home. This is not a party house. House is very clean and easy for you to enjoy! We also have a great cleaning company that makes sure that your stay is as clean as you would want your own house to be. If you are coming up to snowmobile and for some reason your sled breaks down and you need a rental, there is a rental place right next door that has the best pricing in town. The bathrooms and hallways are not up to official handicap standards. The bathroom does has safety bars in the bathtub, and to the side of the commode. Internet: Yes! Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels. Parking: There is enough cars for 4-5 vehicles to park on-site. Pets: No pets allowed at this time. Privacy: Nothing but trees! Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart! Snowmobiles: Mile-Marker 8 (which eventually connects to 13 or 3) is just a mile away. A person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Space: Ranch style with full basement. Televisions: Flat-screen in living room will have streaming capabilities and a TV(dvd's only) in bedroom #3. Towels: Yes, we provide towels. Down the road from the cabin is the Ontonagon River w some viewing areas off the trail system (cabin is right off trail system). River terrain varies incl areas to hear the serene sounds of the water over rocky areas & as the river takes it turns throughout the woods. The river comes from Cisco Lake (just down Cisco Lake Rd from the cabin driveway) which is part of the Cisco Chain. Then, the Ontonagon River goes through a variety of terrain & has a beautiful waterfall called Kakabika Falls (just W of cabin on 527). A beautiful scenic site is just SW of the cabin by the Pomeroy Langford Lakes area. Bench seat. Worthy of pictures & relaxing. Also the Grouse GEM area is in that area also. It is a full recreational lake, so bring your boat or use the canoe and or Kayaks provided. If the fish aren t hitting for some reason you can jump drive 10 min and get on the Cisco Lake Chain and boat/fish till your hearts content! Please note that December through April is seasonal access, the road is not plowed and must be accessed by snow show or snowmobile. Yes this is perfect for your yearly snowmobile trip in the UP!

We keep a good stock of coffee creamer, tea along with other condiments. we supply soap along with shampoo conditioner and body wash for you to use on your stay along with plenty of hand sanitizer. The town of White Pine is a nice little town of about 400 people. White Pine is up and coming, It is an old copper mining town. We do have a camera outside only covering the driveway that is used only for snow depth and other maintenance purposes. You will have access to the entire house but not the garage. We just ask to please love this home like it is your very own. Housekeeping asks for all dishes to be washed and put back in the cabinet they came from.

Our home offers 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a large king size bed, air condition, a half bath, and some cute seating, also a fireplace that is for decoration but is useable. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed, dresser, and closet. Third bedroom offers a full size bed along with a dresser and closet. Fourth bedroom offers another full size bed along with an addition room that is full of kids board games and a nice bamboo table to play at for the kiddos or adults. We have an open concept kitchen that views living room area which has air conditioning and also outside to the patio which has a picnic table, gas grill, and a fire pit completely stocked with firewood for your evening fires. Our kitchen has all the pots, pans, silverware, plates, glasses you will need. We have a coffee pot along with coffee, tea, different creamers, and sugar as well. Washer and dryer on site with laundry soap and dryer sheets for you to use. We will supply a gallon of milk, dozen eggs, loaf of bread and waffles with syrup as well for your stay. We also have individual jam packs for your toast. You will be supplied with all the bedding and pillows, along with towels, wash cloths and hand towels. We have dish soap, hand soap and also shampoo with conditioner for you as well. On top of all these great amenities, we have 5 schwinn pedal bikes for you to use as well.. At your own risk of course. After a long day of your adventures you can come back and relax and listen to music or just watch our TV or play on your computer with our Wi-Fi. Miles and miles of trails in the area for snowmobiling that are open for atv's during non-winter months. Approximately 10 miles from Porcupine Mountains. About 5 miles from Lake Superior beaches *be aware* there are pretty steep stairs to upper floor * Perfect for those who want to “get away from it all”! No cable or WiFi so no distractions from troubling news stories or social media. Although there are places nearby to connect to WiFi if needed, and we have a sizable selection of DVD’s as well as a few games, playing cards, puzzles and books for relaxing nights or rainy days spent inside. The cell service in the area is very spotty...so fewer calls to interrupt your calming/relaxing get away.
